Effects of the War

Information about the lasting effects of the war.

Physical and Mental Health
The physical and psychological toll on soldiers and civilians.

After the war many veterans experienced physical and mental reprocussions. Their mental states were affected by conditions like PTSD, depression, and severe psycological stress(www.research.va.gov/currents/0322-Study-finds-ongoing-mental-health-concerns-for-Vietnam-Veterans.cfm). While physically they experienced disease and chronic conditions, such as heart attacks(vva.org/programs/ptsd/four-decades-later-vietnam-veteransand-ptsd/).

Conditions for civilians
The impact of the war on civilian life.

Due to the war the conditions for civilians weren't ideal either. One example of this is the fact that the civilians were in constant fear of the deaths of themselves and loved ones. Bombs caused the health of the plants and general health of the surrounding areas to decrease (www.pritzkermilitary.org/explore/vietnam-war/key-terms.).
